Virtual
August 24 to 28, 2020

Dear members of the SBMicro, IEEE EDS, colleagues, and prospective authors,

Given the uncertain situation due to the pandemic of COVID 19, we, the organizing committee of SBMicro2020, together with the Brazilian Microelectronics Society Board of Directors, have decided to postpone the conference to 2021. The presential conference with peer reviewed papers has been rescheduled to August 2021. It will take place in Campinas led by the same organizing team.

In addition, a Virtual Minicolloquium, consisting of invited presentations by leading technologists, will be held on August 25, 2020. More details will be released in the conference website soon.

For all the authors who have been or were about to prepare papers for SBMicro2020, a new opportunity has been organized. We strongly encourage you to submit your manuscript to a Special Issue of Journal of Integrated Circuits and Systems, JICS ( http://ojs.fei.edu.br/ojs/index.php/JICS ), which will contain the accepted papers of SBMicro2020. The submitted papers will pass through a usual but faster review process, allowing them to be published within the second semester of 2020.

Papers submitted to this Special Issue must follow the journal template and have from 4 to 5 pages. The manuscript submission must be done through the JICS webpage, between April 24 to May 15, 2020. When submitting their manuscript, authors need to select “Special Section on SBMicro2020”.

In 2021, we are planning to resume to a usual conference development schedule with the conference in Campinas, in the week of August 23-27, 2021.

We wish you all to stay in good health.

Kind regards,

Michelly de Souza and Durga Misra, SBMicro Program chairs

Jacobus Swart, Chip in the Fields General Chair
