Belo Horizonte is located in the south-east region of Brazil with few incidence of Aedes Aegypti (mosquitoes found to be the primary vector for spreading Zika virus). Also, expected average temperatures for the period of Chip on the Mountains are 27ºC (80ºF) max. and 14ºC (57ºF) min. During this period (winter time in South-East Brazil), Aegypti density eventually decreases (given its inability to survive under lower temperatures), thus reducing the occurrence of related diseases. The combination of these factors (lower mosquito incidence in the region, plus colder temperatures) makes Belo Horizonte a safer region with regard to Zika.
