CV Resumido
Altamiro Amadeu Susin was born at Vacaria-RS (Brazil) in 1945. He received the Electrical Engineering and the MSc. degrees from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in 1972 and 1977, respectively. He works with Digital Computers since 1968 when he was with teams that started the Computer Centers at PUCRS (1968) and Unisinos (1973), two local Universities. In 1981 he got his Dr Eng degree from Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble-France. He is full professor, retired nowadays, at the Electrical Engineering Department at UFRGS, in charge of Analog and Digital Electronics courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He is also a member of the Graduation Programs in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Microelectronics of UFRGS. His main research interests are Integrated Circuits Architecture, Systems on Chip and Networks on Chip for complex multi-core sytems and Signal Processing with more than 50 technical papers published in those domains. He is/was responsible for several R&D projects with either public and/or industrial fundings, covering electronic instrumentation, audio and image processing, digital TV and computer vision for medical instrumentation, robotics and driving assistance. He also organized conferences and workshops covering the aforementioned topics.
